Indy Car Overview...
Founded in 1996, the Indy Racing League (IRL) is an extremely fast paced series featuring the cars and drivers made famous by the Indianapolis 500. The IRL has been successful in taking the Indy 500 experience to major markets, which were previously thought of as stock car country. The IRL is a predominantly oval track series that exhibits speeds of up to 220 mph! The IRL focuses on offering a cost-controlled environment to help bring in new teams and drivers each season. With the Indy 500, the IRL is arguably the best value in major league auto racing.
